Hi Angela,
I'm actually reading that bg image as having two colors: #859fba and
#7e97b1. the lighter color covers one pixel and the other the remaining two
pixels. So the difference will show up when tiled. Try one color and see if
that makes a difference (although the bg is pretty cool as is :)). Also if
there is a slight variation when converting to a gif, sometimes it's not
nearly as obvious if you're tiling a larger image.
