Yes "bleed" is the terminology I was looking for. I'm really not looking to
apply
custom classes to every element that may exist in the disabled region, I've
given a
contrived example but it is not practical for my intended usage to attempt to
add custom styles to every element to give them a disabled look. The look is
perfect
when another element is placed on top with an opacity value and no color bleed.
If
the element is given a white value for instance everything underneath gets a
faded
("disabled") look .

It should not "mix", background colors should bleed through I think.
In any case, you can style the rows with alpha() plugging a class in the
main container and then using that class you change the background of the
rows.
