This didn't work because it was being read by all the browsers, not
just IE:

#main .content{
padding: 0px;
margin-bottom: -20px;
}

I looked at this ( http://www.ejeliot.com/blog/63 ) and then tried:
#main .content{
*padding: 0px;
*margin-bottom: -20px;
}
and the fix is working in IE only. What a star!!! (excuse the terrible
pun).
I am really happy now, thanks for all your help.
