Whilst they're useful to me, they're probably not so to that many others, although they're certainly more relevant to my audience than that of a general interest site. I think there's a perception that they smack somewhat of a 'look how good I am' mentality, and there's a danger you'll be shot down in flames should a single validation error occur when those links are followed.
