It sounds like that you are using some sort of transparency in your images, so what is behind the curved corners show though the image. If this is the case, and if you are using a plain-colored background, or know exactly where your corners will be according to the background pattern, you should consider dropping the transparency. There is most certainly other ways around your problem, but then a code example showing it in action would help.
