I have no IE7 to test in, but your styling is incomplete.
1: IE 6 & 7 doesn't understand 'display: table;'. That property is for
the good browsers, like Firefox, Opera, Safari etc.
2: IE7 may need the property you left out: 'zoom: 1;', in order to gain
'Layout'[1] and expand properly.
