If you have trouble with this in IE 7 because of the height, you could also
try "zoom: 1;" or "zoom: 100%;" instead of "height: 1%;"

The write-up on "hasLayout" that Georg pointed to is well worth a read. It
is tough going, but Microsoft can't explain it themselves, the concept is
so, what shall we say, bizarre?
