I noticed one problem

.nav li:hover ul,
.nav li a:hover ul {
   top: 2.0em

T I vote for removing it so that you don't have to
maintain that value in two places.

I guess that's what I get for following someone else's script too slavishly!

Now I can start on borders within the submenus!
