The addition of a 'hasLayout' trigger...
.column li a {height: 1%;}
...will fix that.

One of those irritating bugs found only in Opera 8.x - Opera 7.54 and
Opera 9.x are fine. I wouldn't touch that bug, of fear I might introduce
a misalignment in later versions and/or other browsers.
