As far as I can explain Mike it's retaining your box and if need be your pushing everything else around it which can at least in my circumstance be easier to flow stuff tighter around it. But now I forget exactly what that IE measurement issue of the "box" is? I often end up trying both and seeing which works best (kill and destroy;-), which I realize isn't the best semantic.
