Because that is what the client uses and also it is good to support the 
older browsers where possible.

Don't forget there are still a stack of mac users using pre OSX 10 or 
what ever it is that don't have safari and haven't been introduced to 
Firefox.

In relation to the problem, I only have a missing form on IE5.x Mac, 
the problem with centering the list based menu is across the board.
