Greetings. I'm attempting a css layout with as few images as possible, etc. I'm attempting something similar to the Complex Spiral to simulate a semi-transparent background color "on top" of a full colored photo with the exception of not having the layout anchored to a corner - the main content centers horizontally on a page. I know you can achieve the desired effect with a screened image on top of the full colored image, using two fixed background images, but can it be done for horizontally-centered content?
A monkey wrench: I had it working applying the faux screened image to the <ul>. Unfortunately, I need to space out these menu list items so a few pixels of the full colored image shows through between each menu item.
