Unclear bottom-position for IE/win ... where is that footer..?
Actually; it is jumping up to a position just below the sidebar, as soon
as IE re-render on a link, and this jumping is confusing IE.
Simplest solution:
#footer {clear: both;}
...which will make the footer stay down where it belong, and give IE
(and other browsers) something stable to clear below.
No '.clearfix' needed on #container anymore btw, since the footer will
take care of the clearing. Hopefully you'll put some content inside that
footer also, which will make the whole thing even more stable.
