In case this means you need a fix for IE:
#main { width: 100%; overflow: hidden; background-color: #999; }
#main img { margin: 20px;}
body { padding: 20px;}
looks equal to
/*
#main {
background-color: #999;
margin: 20px;
padding: 20px;
overflow: hidden;
}
*/
in standards mode.
/Due to/ the expanding box problem, IE needs a real dimension for
overflow to work.
