:

Reading today's 24 Ways[1] reminded me of something I've been meaning to
ask, because it referred to the chart of CSS filters at Centricle[2].
I've noticed that people usually refer to this or the imfo.ru chart[3]
rather than the one at dithered.com[4], and I'm starting to wonder if
there's Something I Don't Know.

Both of the other charts describe this filter -

  @import "style.css";

- without saying that it crashes NN4, as dithered.com asserts.

Neither mentions this -

  @import"styles.css";   /* note the missing space */

- which, according to dithered.com, is safer [and, as it happens,
different in other ways that I find useful]. The css-discuss wiki even
mentions[5] that it's possible to crash NN4 with some of these filters
before linking to the imfo.ru chart.

Is the dithered.com chart wrong [I know it's a bit old], or are people
just not that bothered about crashing NN4 these days?

It seems a little harsh on the unfortunate souls concerned - they're
having a hard enough time as it is without us killing their browser as
well :-)
