I am soliciting feedback on a document I created for the school district I work
for as a web designer/content editor. I am attempting to codify web technical
standards for our organization. Past practice before I was hired has been...
chaotic. Each of our 21 schools has a web site designed by a well-meaning but
totally untrained educator working at that school; many of them are using
authoring tools that vanished from the market many years ago. My goal is to
inform and educate these web authors regarding current standards and practices
for web site design.

Accordingly, I have created a draft of a document that outlines (what I think
are) current web standards. It can be viewed at this location:

http://www.bham.wednet.edu/technology/webstandards.htm

I would appreciate any feedback css-d listees have on the categories or content
of this document. A few points are specific to our workplace (such as
standardizing on web tools), but any suggestions that people have on wording,
resources, or "practical consideration" examples would be greatly appreciated.

Caveat: the web site that this page is posted on does not meet the standards.
This web site was designed many years ago and is in drastic need of a redesign!

Thanks for any input you may have!
