I only want the underline in the .bodytext class (text links). I don't want
it in the navigation, masthead or images.

Well, doing what I suggested earlier:

#masthead a { border: none; }

plus this:

#footer a { border: none; }

... should accomplish that.

But it shouldn't be necessary. I'm trying to figure out why your .bodytext link styles seem to have commandeered your masthead and footer.
