Starting with a standard (working) competitive server running de_dust, I tried
this last night with several Workshop maps (cs_vault, downtown and Gwalior) and
while it would acknowledge the map (telling me that I had the latest version on
disk) and set the mapgroup to the ID code (eg. 126366738 for cs_vault), it
wouldn't even then load the map.

I could happily switch to other standard maps like cs_office without issue.

If it was just cs_vault, I'd have blamed the map…

I also tried deleting the workshop folder (and removing the details from the
subscribed files) so I could be sure that the maps were up-to-date but got the
same result.

As for adding a workshop map to one of the existing mapgroups… no change to the
result sadly. I tried both mg_bomb and mg_hostage (and even tried it on both
competitive and casual… just in case).

Has anyone got a working config (gamemodes_server.txt, server.cfg and command
line) that they use for hosting Workshop maps that they wouldn't mind sharing
(minus all the sensitive bits, of course)… maybe I'll be able to spot where
I've gone wrong!

Thanks

Try staring a server with regular mode and then switch to workshop on
the fly: host_workshop_map fileidhere

-ics
