Hi all,

I just went to ZDnet.com.au and was reading the news and noticed a
banner ad for a 3Com NIC with a "3XP Processor" for an "evaluation price"
of A$89. The marketing bumph that goes with it claims it's "uniquely
optimised for Windows 2000" and apparently offloads some of the functions
of IPSec operation onto the card itself (the desktop version supports 15
SA's and the server version supports 1024 with it's additional SRAM).

Sadly the cards are split with regards to their operation (168-bit keying
for US usage, 56-bit elsewhere), but I've bought one anyway to have a
fiddle with.

To the 2600 Australia guys and girls, have a look at this URL:

        http://www.3com.com/promotions/securenic/au/index.html

To the OpenBSD guys and girls, heard anything about this? Know if the
chipset is similar enough to anything else to allow operation as a
standard 3Com 905-based card? Is the card useful in the
arena-of-operation for OpenBSD? I've put the PDF-based info on the thing
here:

        http://the.wiretapped.net/wt/misc/503023.pdf

For the [EMAIL PROTECTED] guys - interesting item for the price?

Here's the blurb from the web page:

* Integrated 3XP processor adds exceptional network and system performance
* Onboard encryption chip secures your sensitive data
* DynamicAccess technology adds intelligence for advanced system and network management

privately why you only single click on Doubleclick.net ads? <grin>
