In addition to Suzan Dionne Balz's excellent DCSB talk "The Law of
Digital Cash tomorrow", we will have also have a short talk from Victor
Dostov and Ivan Kouznetsov of Paycash, the well-known Russian digital
cash underwriter, who is in the US on other business and has come up to
Boston just for tomorrow's DCSB.
Their coming to Boston is important (to me, at least :-)), because from
all appearances Paycash uses some form of cryptographic blinding in their
(apparently bearer) digital cash products. It is my understanding that
Mssrs. Dostov and Kouznetsov will give a short 15 minute talk, and be
able to answer questions about their protocol and operations at the
meeting tomorrow.
We still have seats available for this event. If you're interested in
coming tomorrow, let me know, by email, immediately -- or at least before
9AM tomorrow morning. I'll then send you details, and put you on the list
for lunch at the Harvard Club. The cost of this event is, for those who
don't remember, a company check or personal money order for $35, payable
to the Harvard Club of Boston. If this is not possible, contact me
directly and we should be able to work something out. The Harvard Club
is at One Federal Street, Boston, 38th floor, and this luncheon meeting
is from 12-2PM.
Last, but certainly not least, it appears that Olivier Hance, co-author
with Ms. Balz of "The Law of Digital Cash" is in the US from Europe as
well, will be flying up with Ms. Balz from New York to be on hand
tomorrow as well.
This is going to be a great meeting, and I hope to see you there!
Cordially,
Robert A. Hettinga
