Anyone know anything about these guys?

[I may be having a knee jerk reaction, but this smells snake oily. --pm]

Anyone get the snail-mail invite?

Subject: Invitation to CKM®

Dear RSA Conference Attendee,

Bill Sweet, our Vice President of Marketing, suggested that if you had
not already received our invitation letter by U.S. Mail, you might want
to be aware of an opportunity to hear about this exciting new technology
at the RSA Conference 2000 next week.

A significant unanticipated event is about to happen in our industry,
and you have an opportunity to find out about it beforehand. Several
major U.S. Government agencies have been evaluating a new technology
that will transport information between business and government agencies
with the utmost in privacy, security, and differentiated access to a
data object at any level. This technology will set a new commercial
standard for information access, and will be announced by March of this
year.

The technology we are talking about is a new cryptographic key
distribution system —The Constructive Key Management System® (CKM®)
created by TECSEC® Incorporated. CKM provides a quantum leap in the
ability to securely access information of all kinds discretely over any
network. CKM is extremely scaleable and satisfies the requirements of
the new X9.69 ANSI standard. CrypTEC Systems is supplying the
CKM-enabled™ smart cards and supporting software and systems to TECSEC
for use by the various government agencies.

CKM gives organizations the ability to access documents, files, and
databases at the individual word, object, or data field level, and does
away with traditional centralized security or permissions servers. CKM
technology works by distributing all security processing out to
thousands of smart cards. These cards contain role-based cryptographic
keying materials and protocols that have been distributed to users
off-line by local workgroup administrators. All data is encrypted with
CKM working keys, and each user has the keying materials to directly
access whatever information they are authorized to have via those
credentials.

CrypTEC and TECSEC will be presenting a CKM sneak preview at the RSA
Security Conference on Tuesday, January 18th, and Wednesday January
19th, 2000. The presentations will be held at 10:00am, 12:00pm, 2:00pm,
and 3:30pm in the Santa Clara II room of the Hilton Towers Hotel upper
level concourse (an easy 5 minute indoor walk from the exhibit floor.)

If you are interested in attending, please contact Shari Smith at
[EMAIL PROTECTED] or call her at 408-399-6845 giving her two or more
schedule preferences so we can reserve a space for you.

Cordially yours,
John Jones for Bill Sweet
