Swift username issue - the way it's implemented, it cannot select it's
value for platform.

Right, I saw this error too and didn't quite know what to do.  Adam and I
had discussed it.

If we would like to select a username for swift based on deployment
platform, but NOT based on user input, then we should put a node.platform?
conditional in the /attributes/default.rb file and set the username there.
 Setting the username in crowbar.yml doesn't allow for platform
specification.

I'm ccing the crowbar list.

User/group attributes are duplicated in the node and proposal databags.
Suse has hard coded these values in the packages and removed the defaults
from the UI.

Mirantis is proposing a fix that works, but feels wrong to leave those
unused and exposed in the proposal UI. Please comment
