Dell - Internal Use - Confidential

I would like to see an option to use the alias as the canonical name, instead
of the generated name.
This would make it a global choice, not just in the logs.

I like including groupname in the logs.

Love it.  I don't mind long filenames, as long as they are consistent and fail
gracefully when searched for with standard file globbing.

Hello,
+1 from me, on using alias for log file names.
It is much easier to view files, especially in case we need to trace a specific
record in a specific group of nodes.
Perhaps using group name as well will be better, e.g.:
{groupname}_{alias}

We support user to create aliases for nodes instead of using MAC addresses.
This is great for UI.
But when looking at log files they are still named using MAC addresses.

What’s people thoughts on using alias for log file names?
If not aliases are specified then current default behavior of using MAC address
will be revered to.
Thanks,
Arkady
