Folks,

We smoke tested all the PRs that were merged on Friday. Immediately following
the smoke test work the Dell team reviewed each pull request before merging
them. The result was that several PRs that had been tested were either
rejected pending code improvement, or were held for additional information.
Specifically, the following were not merged with the result that merge
sequencing issues mean that some need to be refactored so they can be merged.

PRs held:
Quantum pull 100 (can't be merged as-is now)
               Quantum pull 106
               Nagios pull 67
Ceilometer pull 11 (can't be merged as-is now)

Following the merge we ran another base-line smoke test that has newly
introduced problems that I suspect come from the changes to barclamp-deployer.
The admin node deploys just fine, however compute nodes a discovered and the
Linux OS gets deployed onto them but then chef-client fails to start on node
restart due to not being able to find the required pem file in the /etc/chef
directory. The result of this is that the node never reports back to the admin
node.

If you can see why this new problem may have emerged and can point us to the
changes needed that will help, however, on Monday we expect to get back to this
and to begin an all-out effort to close the smoke testing issues as well as to
fix critical bugs in the WebUI (swift dispersions error out, tempest runs error
out).

I hope that the clearing of most of the backlog is helpful to your work.

Cheers,
John T.
