Thank you as always Len for your dedicated work. It is so much appreciated by
all on the List.

I enjoyed revisiting after many years the Drumglass Parish & Dungannon, Co.
Tyrone, Northern Ireland in 1837 Lewis' Topographical Dictionary of Ireland
entry. My brick wall ancestor John Johnston by 1842 was working as a Bailiff
for William Blacker who was appointed in 1831 to manage the Dungannon Royal
School Lands. (Plantation - Royal Schools ~ 1614. Townlands were set up to
support Royal Schools as they were funded by rents from them). He was
presumably a very unpopular figure because he was burnt out twice when
attempting to construct a house in the townland of Derrytresk in the 1840's.
He obviously succeeded because that is where he died in the 1860's. In 2012 my
husband and I had the privilege of travelling extensively throughout the area.

Great history lesson, Len, and overview of what the area was like in 1837. Of
particular relevance to me as my ancestors (Wilkinson & O'Hara) Came from
Dungannon - Drumglass & Killyman parishes. Thanks for the info. Gordon

............ blew the doors off our previous record month!!

Mainly courtesy of Len Swindley,, we added OVER FIFTY new pages in April!

I would have no idea how many hours of typing and research would go into
such a project; however, we continue to be very thankful to Len and our
other contributors.

Please use every opportunity you can to promote our website on social media
to your followers.

By the way, we sure do appreciate the compliments we receive AND hope you
will continue to support CTI long into the future.

Stay safe and well in these difficult times,
