Dear Hristo,

This is Salvador Lima, I work as a computational linguist at Martin
Krallinger's team in the Barcelona Supercomputing Center. We will be
releasing a corpus and shared task about granular location detection
(including geopolitical entities, geographical places and facilities), as
well as place-related information (such as clinical departments), in
clinical documents. All entities in the corpus are normalized, with named
geopolitical entities being normalized to GeoNames, named facilities to
PlusCodes and the rest to SNOMED CT. It's quite different from what you
were asking about, but maybe the geographical normalization part will
interest you?

Here's the website in case you are interested:
https://temu.bsc.es/meddoplace/. It is still under construction, we will
complete it with more info in the following weeks. The training set of the
corpus and the annotation/normalization guidelines will be released next
month.

Best wishes and good luck with your search!
Salvador.
