I can't recall a time I have ever needed it, but I am not against the
idea.

Would it also make sense to add a more general -d/--delimiter option?
Likewise, the point being to avoid the inefficiency from piping to 'tr'.
It could also accept strings instead of a character, which would make it
more powerful than piping to 'tr'.
