This position is a great opportunity to work in the Conservation Science section in Parks Canada.
We are looking for someone who graduated from a recognized university with a Master and PhD degree in conservation science or physical/material science. Consider this position if you have : - Experience in the scientific study and analysis of cultural heritage as required for the investigation of archaeological and historical objects, works of art, and built heritage materials; - Recent and significant experience in maintaining accurate scientific records and data interpretation. This would include experience using and maintaining analytical instruments, corresponding software, and preparing reference materials; - Recent and significant experience in at least two of the following analytical techniques: Raman spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, x-ray fluorescence, attenuated total reflectance Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, or gas chromatography-mass spectrometry; - Experience in writing and editing scientific analytical reports and/or publications; - Experience with laboratory safety procedures and protocol; - Experience collaborating with colleagues in other fields.
