The conservation of photographs typically requires the identification of photographic manufacturing processes. However, unexperienced people often find it quite difficult to understand the variety of processes, their terminlology, the relevance of process-ID, and the characteristic features to look at. To help this group, we are in the early steps of developing a digital tool (maybe an app for your smartphone or a website) which hopefully will facilitate photographic process ID and will minimize the time needed. In order to better understand our target groups and their working conditions, we have created a survey.
