My experience of a rolled painting with white, PVC cinema screen as a canvas was that the metallic acrylic paint that had been applied by brush, adhered to areas of phthalate plasticizer that had migrated unevenly, removing it from the PVC in some areas. If the plasticizer in the banner is not a phthalate, the risks of this form of degradation are minimal. If phthalates are present, they are readily absorbed by polyethylene and cellulose. I would therefore suggest rolling the banner with polyester sheet such as Mylar as an interleaving material, rather than Tyvek or tissue.
