Shared between the SmithsonianAmerican Art Museum and National Portrait Gallery, the Center is comprised offive labs and studios where the public can see conservators examining,assessing, and treating fine art frames, works on paper, objects, and paintingsfrom both museums’ collections. The Program Coordinator is responsiblefor planning and coordinating a wide array of educational programs andmaterials that aim to reach a broad audience. Monitors public reaction to the Center and its interpretive elements anddevelops and oversees production of content that makes clear to the generalpublic what fine art conservation entails and how it serves to preserve ournational art treasures. Programs will also be developed in association with theconservators for specialized audiences that include conservators, curators, andother museum professionals. The Program Coordinator will administer the website,interactive kiosks, and the use of social media to promote the understanding ofconservation as well as programmatic activities at the Lunder ConservationCenter. This is a full-time, grade 9 non-federal positionwith benefits and promotion potential to grade 11, starting salary $54,972. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have: 1. Knowledge offine arts, art history, museum studies or conservation. 2. Ability toresearch and develop interpretive materials 3.
