I am looking for advice on the storage and handling of a 1980s Revillon coat in our collection. The coat is fur lined with a vinyl coating over a fabric outer shell. The thin vinyl shell is flaking to the point that we can’t handle the coat without vinyl flakes dropping off. We are currently storing the coat in a textile bag and box in a temperature controlled room. If anyone has recommendations for handling the coat or better housing solutions please let me know.
