Once again, I am hearing people recommending the use of nylon "welding powder" and more recently nylon polyfilament for repairing tears in canvas paintings. I was under the impression that nylon undergoes degradation and that the welding powder is particularly suseptable to degradation. Can anyone confirm or repute this and/or point me to published information supporting their conclusions? thanks
