I have a PC running XP home with 2 HD's. I used Acronis true image to clone my C drive on my 320 Gig drive and copied it to a partition on my 40 G drive. I wanted to have a duplicate copy of my OS with all the applications for a backup but I can't get it to boot. I get error messages like no NTLDR or HAL.DLL is missing. I've tried all the solutions to these problems that I can find on Google but no luck. I tried a repair installation of XP but the process hung when it came time to reboot. I would think it should work because I'm reinstalling on the same computer with the same software. What am I doing wrong or am I trying to do something that can't be done?
