Hello, for almost a whole year now I have performed experiments with LEGO bricks in a washing machine. They self-assemble; the results are partly interesting and partly nice. This procedure can be interpreted as an "analog Monte Carlo" procedure. (The washing machine is the agent.)
The "Annals of Improbable Research" has published an article on my LEGO washing. It can be downloaded from http://www.improbable.com/airchives/paperair/volume20/v20i2/evolution-LEGO-washing-machine.pdf In the last section I write a little bit about the success of DIGITAL Monte Carlo procedures and mention Computer Go as a prominent example. For demonstration purposes the official Pachi logo (drawn by Chidouri) is included. "Pachi" is the Go bot by Petr Baudis and Jean-Loup Gailly.
