I unpacked my nice packed version from 1991 again, but it seems that it does not implement even the go modem protocol. At least it is not in the printed (!) user manual:)
If somebody knows more, I would let my version play on KGS. This should not make it to easy to tune for the 1999 version, but to get an idea how to play a weak opponent.
