Dear all,

TCGA is a new-founded association for promoting the research and activities of computer games in Taiwan. Here is the result of the TCGA Go tournaments, held in Tainan, Taiwan, on 25-26 June, 2011.

9x9 Go (10 mins SD, Chinese rules, 7.5 komi)
1.Zen
2.MogoTW
3.Coldmilk

19x19 Go (45 mins SD, Chinese rules, 7.5 komi)
1.Many Faces of Go
2.Zen
3.Coldmilk

On the 9x9 competition, Zen won all the games including the ones against MogoTW (which is a joint cooperation between Mogo team and some Taiwanese organizations). In this tournament, Mogo was running on a very big cluster located in France, totally 712 cores. But due to frequent crashs, Fabien Teyteud (the operator of MogoTW) restarted Mogo remotely for many times and without success sometimes. It is unknown and possible that the restarts have certain bad effects on Mogo's performance.

On the 19x19 competition, Zen defeated Mogo by killing a big group. Mogo withdraw from the competition afterwards because Fabien left for a conference, in which he was assigned to give a talk. Many Faces defeated Zen and won.

In this game, ManyFaces played solidly and secured a lot of territory from the start. Both sides had a big territory and finally ManyFaces won by 0.5 point in the close endgame situation.
