This wouldn't work without AMAF, because a move might never recover from a few bad runs. With AMAF, it could.

The question is, what about passing? That presumably doesn't get counted as a "good future move" in AMAF, so how can passing gain wins (or runs, for that matter) when it's the right move (e.g., when there is a seki on the board)?
