your calculation is for mogo to beat kim, according to kim and the mogo team's estimates.
i think that a better thing to measure would be for a computer program to be able to regularly beat amateurs of any rank without handicap. i.e. to effectively be at the pro level. for one thing, this is easier to measure, and for another, it relies much less on mogo staying the same, kim being correct, or some other professional being much better against computer players, for instance. it just requires some machine connected to KGS to be able to attain, say, 9d, and keep it for a month or so. s. _______________________________________________ computer-go mailing list computer-go@computer-go.org http://www.computer-go.org/mailman/listinfo/computer-go/
