You also have the same problem, but with much less real information,
if the client end end of the connection is bridged by a router, with 
is pretty common.  I'm absolutely certain that ordinary consumer routers 
are not very reliable.   They have very limited memory, and arbitrary
and undocumented policies for maintaining their connection tables.

Sometimes power cycling them helps.
