Dear Jack,

Thank you for your reply.

>From the case log, I understand that Windows Live OneCare still cannot be
installed.

After checking your uploaded files, I noticed the following error:

===============================
Microsoft Windows OneCare Live AntiSpyware and AntiVirus -- The installer
has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may
indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2318. The arguments
are: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\OneCare
Protection\LocalCopy\{05E10C8D-D0D2-FD92-71BE-C8ACE8E1476E}-{FE9A0372-0FF3-0

This issue can be caused if the package cannot be installed properly, let us
perform the following steps:

Step 1:
======
Please open Computers.
Please go to folder C:\ProgramData\Microsoft, please find if there is a
folder "OneCare Protection" under Microsoft.
Please delete "OneCare Protection" folder.

Step 2:
=====
1. Click the Start Button, type "%ProgramFiles%" (without quotation marks)
in "Start Search", and then press Enter.
2. Right-click on the "Microsoft Windows OneCare Live" folder and choose
Properties.
3. Click the "Security" tab and see if your current user is listed in the
"Group or user names" list. If not, please click the Add button, type the
name of your current user in the "Enter the object names to select " box,
then click "OK" to add this group.
4. Select the user from the list and then check the "Allow" checkbox next to
"Full Control".
5. Click the Advanced button and click the "Owner" tab. Then, press "Edit"
button.
6. Select current user from the list and check the "Replace owner on
subcontainers and objects" checkbox.
7. Click "OK" to save changes and wait for Windows Vista to transfer the
ownership of all the objects on the partition.
8. Click OK again to save changes and exit the Properties window.
9. Please delete the "Microsoft Windows OneCare Live" folder.

Please try to install OneCare again.

If the error persists, please help to collect the latest OneCare setup log:

1. Please click Start, type "%programfiles%" (without quotation marks) in
the "Start Search" box and then click OK.
2. Double click to open the "Microsoft Windows OneCare Live" folder.
3. Find the folder named Logs, right click on this folder, choose "Send to",
and then click "Compressed (zipped) Folder".
4. A new zip file will be generated in the current folder. Please send it to

earliest convenience. If anything in my email is unclear, please do not
hesitate to let me know. I look forward to your reply.
