in addition to the things that you mentioned is the following: the stronger the player, the longer they will leave a position unresolved and the position will be as complicated as that player can grok.

a simple example of this is a two space high pincer against a 3-4 stone, followed by a two space jump, followed by a two space extension. this can be resolved in may ways, but is sometimes done later.

after todays programs get 5 or so stones stronger, i suspect that this will be the hard problem to address.
