Public bug reported: If you use the Compiz 'grid' plugin to position a window, then change the viewport of that window with the Compiz 'put' plugin, the window moves briefly to the new viewport but then immediately bounces back to the old viewport.
A workaround is to restore the window before putting it to the next viewport. The Compiz grid plugin has functionality to avoid this behavior when a windows's viewport is changed with the Compiz 'expo' plugin, but not the 'put' plugin. The attached patch to 'put' for compiz-0.9.13.1+18.04.20180302 retrieved via 'apt source compiz-plugins-default' on Ubuntu 18.04 fixes this behavior. ** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Patch added: "Fix for put.cpp that tells grid it is moving window to another viewport" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1886106/+attachment/5389158/+files/put.cpp.diff -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1886106 Title: Compiz put plugin window bounces back when changing viewport if window placed by Grid plugin To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/1886106/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
