Hi! Thanks. I think we need to discuss this internally first. The reason is that sometimes the virtual GPU is backed by a fast physical GPU. Sometimes it's not, and it's only in the latter case there is a performance issue, in the fast case, we'd want all effects enabled.
And also when the GPU is not enabled at all and compiz-on-llvmpipe kicks in, but as you say there's not much to be done in that case. Thanks a lot for your help.
