ALT-TAB is made significantly worse since 12.04

In most other OSes it works as expected and never changes. I expected it
to (at least be able to)

* Be quick (works OK, but not as good as before)
* Switch only between the windows on the current workspace (possible)
* Switch between ALL windows on the current workspace, not between all
applications (possible)
* SHOW all windows in the current workspace in the Switcher panel that pops up.
This is not possible today with Ubuntu (although it is possible with old
versions of Ubuntu, MS Windows, etc). Today only a subset of the windows (3 or
5 or something) shows up, and the icon sizes seem to large to allow more. This
is not useful. If you have 18 windows open, it is useless to have to look at
the windows as the appear in the launcher to inspect and see if it is the one
you actually want. The point of ALT-TAB (imo) is to be an efficient way of
switching windows, not a nice looking "effect". Not being able to see all
windows in the launcher makes ALT-TAB significantly less useful.

This kept me from upgrading from 10.10 for a long time. I thought it was
fixed, so I upgraded. Unfortunately it was not.
