Just got Beta 1 and installed the updated fglrx driver. (It was not installed already). The Unity shell resembled a number of 'black squares' jumbled up on the screen. While Unity/Compiz were running other applications flashed as well. However, when I ran sudo killall compiz, all the other apps that were open stopped flashing.
