Hai,

I don't know the 'official' reason, but it is bad practice to use user ids 
under 1000.  I presume you are using root or some typical user account to build 
this.  The fix for me was to create a new user with an id that is greater than 
1000. 

Here is an example

useradd --id 1001 hadoopuser
