Classification: A / Connector-V2 JDBC PostgreSQL binary NUMERIC special values. Current `dev` catches `SQLException` and `ClassCastException` around `getBigDecimal`, but not the binary-protocol `IllegalArgumentException`; the fallback string read can fail on the same value. The reported gap is therefore credible, and #12919 is the focused implementation lane. Please keep the new handling narrow: only a verified PostgreSQL binary NUMERIC header with zero digit words and the documented NaN/Infinity sign values may become `null` when `numeric_special_value_as_null` is enabled. Unrelated `IllegalArgumentException`s, malformed numeric data, and every case with the option disabled must still fail. Retain both the forced-binary and normal prepare-threshold regressions so the default multi-split path is actually exercised.
