Thanks for the detailed report, the clear repro, and for opening #12837. The approach of passing the existing `CatalogTable` into the CSV deserializer and applying the typed `defaultValue` for missing or `null_format`-matching fields, without a new option, sounds reasonable, and it's good to see the incompatible-changes docs and the LocalFile CSV coverage already addressed. One question: do other file-based sources that share the CSV read path show the same behavior? If so, it would be worth confirming the fix lands at the shared reader/parser level rather than only for LocalFile.
