PR #4813 also addresses this (front-end sends `subscriptionMode` to `/api/groups/page`, client-side pre-filter removed, page reset on filter change) and adds the missing backend half: the endpoint itself now accepts `subscriptionMode` and `MetadataService` applies the filter to the provider page result, shrinking the reported total so the pager stays consistent.
